Demo & limits

Free to use. Bounded on purpose.

Every check sends your image to a frontier vision model, and that costs real money per request. Rather than charge for it or wrap it in ads, Clairfy runs as a free demo under limits that are stated up front and enforced on the server.

What it costs you

Nothing. No ads, no account, no card.

Free

  • Full verdict, rationale, and evidence
  • No advertising of any kind
  • Sign-in is optional — only for saved history
  • Shared detection links work for everyone

Sign in if you want your past checks kept. Otherwise just use it.

Per-visitor rate limit

So one visitor can’t drain the budget.

10 / hour

  • Counted per IP address
  • Rolling one-hour window
  • Enforced server-side, not in the browser
  • Checks a cached image? Still counts

Hit it and the app says so plainly, then clears within the hour.

Monthly model budget

A hard ceiling on inference spend.

$5 / month

  • Priced from real token usage, per request
  • A daily sub-cap stops one bad day burning the month
  • Already-analyzed images still return from cache
  • Resets on the 1st

Roughly 450 checks a month at current model pricing.

Common questions

Questions about the limits

Is it actually free?

Yes. There's no paid tier, no trial, and nothing to cancel. The only thing an account gets you is a saved history of your own checks.

Why cap it at all?

Clairfy is a portfolio project, not a business, and it runs on a cloud account shared with other work. An uncapped public endpoint calling a paid model is an unbounded bill, so the ceiling is enforced in the application itself.

What happens when the budget runs out?

New images stop being analyzed until the cap resets, and the app tells you that's what happened instead of showing an error. Images that have already been checked still return instantly from cache, because serving those costs nothing.

Didn't this used to have ads and a Pro plan?

It did — an ad-gated free tier and a $10/month subscription, both built and shipped. When the project wound down they were switched off rather than deleted; the billing and ad code is still in the repository behind a feature flag.
